What we hold

To sign you inYour mobile number, and the one-time codes sent to it.
Your profileName, role, trade or profession, years of experience, town, district and state, languages, the rates you are willing to work for, a photograph if you add one, and anything you write about yourself.
Identity, if you choose to verifyWhen you verify with Aadhaar we receive your name, date of birth, gender and address from UIDAI through a licensed verification provider. We never store your full Aadhaar number - only the last four digits, and only so you can recognise which number you used. Your date of birth and address are stored encrypted. For professionals, a PAN check returns the name registered against the PAN.
Bank details and government schemes, if you add themYour bank account for wages, your blood group, and the social security and health schemes you have - PF, ESIC, e-Shram, labour card, Ayushman card, ABHA, pension and insurance schemes - with their numbers. They are stored encrypted, the app shows you only the last four digits of a number, and employers do not see them.
Your work historyEmployments, offers, joining and exit dates, and documents such as a resume or a certificate that you upload.
Where you areOnly if you turn it on. Employers looking for workers see roughly where you are (to about a kilometre). The exact point is shown only to an employer you have applied to or whose invitation you have received.
Your choicesWhat you agreed to at sign-up (this notice, the terms, that you are 18 or older) and each optional permission you switch on or off, with the date and the version of the words you saw. This is how we can show that you agreed.
PaymentsIf you pay for something, our payment provider handles the card or bank details. We never see or store them. We keep a record that a payment was made, for what, and when.
TechnicalThe address your device connects from and basic request records, kept so we can keep the service up and spot abuse.

How the sensitive numbers are kept

Identity numbers are encrypted before they are written down, with a key held only on the server and never in the database. A copy of the database on its own does not reveal them. The last four digits are kept in the clear so that you can tell which document you used.

Why we hold it

Who sees it

Sandbox.co.in (India)Your Aadhaar number, to confirm your identity with UIDAI; a PAN or GSTIN being checked. We do not keep the full Aadhaar number.
MSG91 (India)Your mobile number and the message, for sign-in codes and the notice before an unused account is deleted. We send no job alerts by SMS or WhatsApp; new jobs are shown in the app.
Anthropic (USA)A document you choose to have read by AI - a resume, payslip or similar - to fill in your profile. Only if you say yes for that document, or switch "AI reads my documents" on.
Resend (USA)Your email address and the message: sign-in codes and notices about your offers, deals, messages and invoices (professionals and employers, once you confirm the address), and our reply when you write to us. Workers are not sent email.
Razorpay (India)The payment amount when a business pays us online. Card and bank details go to Razorpay only; we never see them. Workers never pay.
OpenStreetMap (UK / EU)Map pictures are loaded from them, so they see your device's address and the map area, not who you are.

Sending data outside India is allowed under the Act except to countries the Government restricts; none of the above is in such a country. We do not sell your information, and we do not hand it to anyone for advertising.

Your choices, and how to take them back

AI reading of your documents and sharing your location are each off until you switch them on. You can switch either off again at any time in the app, under My profile → Privacy. Taking a choice back is as easy as giving it, and does not affect anything else in your account. To take back everything, delete your account (below).

How long

We keep your profile for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account we remove your profile and your documents after 30 days (the days in which you can change your mind), except where the law makes us keep something: records of payments and wage bookings are kept for 8 years, as tax law requires, without your name, and records of your consents for as long as we may need to show them. Sign-in codes are deleted once used or expired. Records of which employers saw your details, and of what our staff looked at or changed, are kept for one year and then deleted. If you do not use your account for three years we send you an SMS, and erase the account 48 hours later unless you sign in.

What you can ask for

To delete your account, open the app and choose Delete account, or use the delete account page with a code sent to your mobile. You have 30 days to change your mind by signing in; after that it is erased. You can also write to grievance@quantproc.com.

To delete some of your information and keep your account: if you share where you are, turning sharing off in the app deletes your location straight away, and you can change your profile details in the app at any time. To have something removed - your bank details, a document, your work history - write to grievance@quantproc.com from the email on your account, or message us from the mobile number you registered with, and say what to remove. We will remove it within 30 days and tell you if anything has to be kept, such as a payment record the law requires.

Children

Orbit Shram Shakti, Orbit Pravin and Orbit Sahyog is not for anyone under 18: most of the work here is on construction and industrial sites, which the law does not allow for anyone under 18. You confirm your age when you sign up, and when you verify with Aadhaar we check the date of birth. An account found to belong to someone under 18 is closed and erased, and is never shown to an employer. If you believe a child has registered, tell us and we will remove the account.

If something goes wrong

If information is lost or exposed we will tell the Data Protection Board of India and the people affected without delay, with a full report to the Board within 72 hours, as the Rules require.
